Our Faculty of Computing student team, CodeDev<\/strong>, proudly participated in \u201cInnovate with Ballerina 2025\u201d<\/em> \u2014 an innovative competition organized by the IEEE Student Branch<\/strong> in collaboration with the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter<\/strong> of the University of Moratuwa<\/strong>, and powered by WSO2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition aimed to inspire undergraduates across Sri Lanka to design and integrate innovative software solutions using the Ballerina programming language<\/strong>. Participants were guided through a series of hands-on workshops designed to enhance technical expertise and promote the adoption of Ballerina in modern software development practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the competition, Team CodeDev<\/strong> developed a competitive programming platform<\/strong>, demonstrating the practical application of Ballerina for backend integration and scalable system design. Among numerous submissions from universities islandwide, the team was selected among the Top 15 Finalists<\/strong>, recognizing their creativity, strong technical implementation, and problem-solving excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement not only reflects the team\u2019s technical skill and innovative thinking<\/strong> but also strengthens their teamwork and understanding of modern integration technologies<\/strong>, providing a valuable platform to showcase their talents at a national level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
