Our Faculty of Computing student team, CodeDev, proudly participated in “Innovate with Ballerina 2025” — an innovative competition organized by the IEEE Student Branch in collaboration with the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa, and powered by WSO2.
The competition aimed to inspire undergraduates across Sri Lanka to design and integrate innovative software solutions using the Ballerina programming language. Participants were guided through a series of hands-on workshops designed to enhance technical expertise and promote the adoption of Ballerina in modern software development practices.
For the competition, Team CodeDev developed a competitive programming platform, demonstrating the practical application of Ballerina for backend integration and scalable system design. Among numerous submissions from universities islandwide, the team was selected among the Top 15 Finalists, recognizing their creativity, strong technical implementation, and problem-solving excellence.
This achievement not only reflects the team’s technical skill and innovative thinking but also strengthens their teamwork and understanding of modern integration technologies, providing a valuable platform to showcase their talents at a national level.
