Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera Appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Computing at the USJ

The Faculty of Computing at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura proudly announces the assumption of duties by Professor Prasad M. Jayaweera as the Dean of the Faculty of Computing.

Academic Background:
Professor Jayaweera received his B.Sc. Honors degree in Computer Science Special from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1995. He furthered his academic journey by completing his Ph.L. and Ph.D. degrees at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University, and Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2002 and 2004, respectively.

Research and Experience:
With a career spanning over 13 years at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Professor Jayaweera has held the position of Senior Lecturer and, since October 2018, that of Professor of Computer Science. His research contributions extend to process modeling, process patterns, and electronic commerce systems designing. Additionally, he served as a Commonwealth Fellow at the Informatics Research Centre, University of Reading, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Namur.

Educational Journey:
Professor Jayaweera’s commitment to academia is underscored by his tenure as a Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ruhuna. His educational journey commenced with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science Special from the University of Colombo, where he graduated with honors in 1994.
