The Faculty of Computing, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted an educational exhibition titled “A Journey to History”, showcasing the history and evolution of computer hardware and software technologies.
The exhibition was organized by the Second-Year Computer Science students with the objective of enhancing students’ understanding of the technological advancements that have shaped modern computing. The event provided an interactive platform for students, academic staff, and visitors to explore the progression of computing technologies from their early origins to contemporary systems.
A wide range of historical and modern computing artifacts were displayed, including computer hardware components, storage media, processors, input/output devices, operating systems, and software applications. Through demonstrations and presentations, students explained the significance of these technologies and their impact on the development of the computing industry.
