The Faculty of Computing, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted the first pre-symposium workshop of the 1st Jayewardenepura Computing Symposium (JCoS) 2026 on 19 May 2026.
The workshop, titled “Hands-on Prompt Engineering for Effective Use of Large Language Models,” was facilitated by Dr. Kalani Ilmini, Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The session focused on providing participants with a practical understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt design, prompt refinement strategies, performance evaluation, and the integration of AI technologies into academic and industry contexts. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants gained valuable insights into effectively leveraging modern AI tools to enhance productivity and problem-solving.
